Google Business Profile Setup — Adventure Weddings Squamish
A step-by-step checklist for Aaron to set up and optimize the Google Business Profile. Photos drive 45% more clicks — this is the highest-impact free marketing action.
Step 1: Create the Profile
- Go to business.google.com
- Sign in with Aaron’s Google account (or create a dedicated business account)
- Click “Add your business”
- Business name: Adventure Weddings
- Business category (primary): Wedding photographer
- Add secondary categories:
- Wedding planner
- Elopement service (if available)
- Adventure tour agency
- Service area: Select the following areas:
- Squamish, BC
- Whistler, BC
- Sea-to-Sky Corridor
- Vancouver, BC
- North Vancouver, BC
- Contact info:
- Phone: Aaron’s business phone
- Website: https://adventureweddings.love
- Business address: Aaron’s Squamish home address (can be hidden from public)
Step 2: Verify the Business
- Google will send a verification postcard to Aaron’s address (5-14 days)
- Or try phone/email verification if available
- Do not skip verification — unverified profiles don’t appear in local search
Step 3: Complete the Profile (Day 1)
Business Description (750 characters max)

We’re the only elopement company in the Sea to Sky corridor with a photographer who’s also your officiant, a local adventure guide, and year-round availability across two hemispheres (Squamish + Queenstown, NZ). Business Hours
Set to “By appointment only” or custom hours reflecting availability for inquiries:
- Monday-Friday: 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM (after Aaron’s work)
- Saturday-Sunday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Add each package as a service:
- The Essentials — $4,500 CAD (half-day elopement)
- The Adventure — $9,500 CAD (full-day adventure elopement)
- The Epic — $14,500 CAD (multi-day adventure elopement)

Step 4: Upload Photos (Week 1)
Photos are the single most important GBP element. Businesses with photos get 45% more clicks.
Initial Photo Set (Aaron can shoot these on weekends)
Upload at minimum:
- 5-10 Squamish landscape/location photos (Shannon Falls, Chief, Nexen Beach, etc.)
- 1-2 portraits of Aaron and/or Lana in their working environment
- Logo image
- Cover photo (most dramatic Squamish landscape shot)
Once Styled Shoots Happen
- 20-30 couple photos across different locations
- Behind-the-scenes shots showing the photographer-officiant combo
- Ceremony moments
- Adventure activity shots (climbing, hiking)
Photo Tips
- Minimum 720px wide, JPEG or PNG
- Name files with keywords:
squamish-elopement-shannon-falls.jpg,adventure-wedding-stawamus-chief.jpg - Add location tags when uploading
- Upload consistently — 2-3 new photos per week is better than 50 at once
Step 5: Set Up Posts (Ongoing)
Google Business Profile posts appear in search results and on Maps. Post weekly.

First Reviews Strategy
- Ask 2-3 past NZ clients to leave a Google review mentioning adventure photography
- After each styled shoot, ask model couples to leave a review about the experience
- After first founding couple elopement, request a review as part of the agreement

Step 7: Enable Messaging and Booking
- Turn on Google Messages so couples can message directly from search results
- Add a booking link pointing to the inquiry form on adventureweddings.love
- Set up auto-reply for after-hours messages: “Thanks for reaching out! We’ll get back to you within 48 hours with ideas for your adventure elopement.”
Step 8: Monthly Maintenance
- Post weekly (minimum)
- Upload 2-3 new photos per week
- Respond to all reviews within 24 hours (even negative ones — professional, brief)
- Answer all Q&A promptly
- Update holiday hours
- Check Insights monthly — which search terms are people using?
- Update services and pricing if packages change
